College Fanz NAIA Game of the Week

Five Lions Selected to Play in Senior Game

After ending their collegiate football careers with an 8-4 season and a disappointing loss to Lindenwood University in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series, five Langston University Lions football players will have one more chance to showcase their skills and play the game that they love.

Defensive back Omar Hill, wide receiver Jermaine Carter, tight end Donald Berryhill, Jr., linebacker Rodrick Jenkins, and offensive lineman Ayrron Polk have all been selected to play in the fourth annual College Fanz NAIA Senior Classic, which will showcase 120 of the top players in the NAIA. The game will take place in Salina, Kan. on April 24, 2010. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. and tickets will be $5.

Although the game will be being played during the 2010 NFL Draft, there will be scouts representing all 32 NFL teams in attendance which is good for LU’s top athletes looking to continuing playing at the next level. Hill, Jenkins and Polk were all First-Team All-CSFL selections in their respective positions during the 2009 season.

In addition to the Langston University athletes selected, five other athletes will be representing the great state of Oklahoma: Gabriel Ramos (Bacone College), Lantz Mathers (NWOSU), Cale Fischer (NWOSU/Guymon, OK), John Richmond (Cleveland, OK), and Kevin McDonald (NWOSU/Guthrie, OK). All of the players representing Oklahoma will be on the National 60-man roster.
