Seniors Give Last Hurrah in NAIA Senior Classic

Five Langston University Lions played in their final collegiate game on Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Salina, Kan. when the suited up for the fourth annual NAIA Senior Classic.

Tight end Donald Berryhill, Jermaine Carter, Omar Hill, Rodrick Jenkins, and Ayrron Polk gave a full display of their talents and helped lead the Nationals team to a 34-21 victory.

Although Berryhill and Polk did not register official stats, they did help the team rush for 76 yards and pass for 286 yards while not giving up any sacks. In fact, the Nationals Branden Smith scored a touchdown on the heels of one of Berryhill’s great blocks.

Carter, a converted wide receiver, had one of the games most spectacular catches, a 36-yard diving-catch across the middle of the field. Carter finished with two catches for 45 yards.

Defensively, Jenkins finished with three tackles, including one for a loss of two yards. Hill finished with only one tackle, but had an incredible pass break-up in the endzone to close out the first half of the game.
